Any seasoned smoker will tell you that cannabis produces noticeably milder effects when you use it too often. For some people their tolerance takes much longer for it to increase and they receive the full effects of cannabis even when using it consistently. I’m sure if you’re reading this, you’re wishing that person was you. However, there is something that you can do about it and you don’t have to stop using weed for long periods of time.
The best way to approach a high tolerance is the next time you want to indulge, just use far less then what the your normal routine is. So if you normally smoke an entire joint at a time then next time you smoke just smoke a quarter of the joint and put it down. Time is your enemy when it comes to lowering your tolerance and if you wait even just a few hours before re dosing this will definitely help increase the intensity of your medicine. Don’t get me wrong, nothing is better then just stopping completely for a few days to a few weeks when it comes to resetting tolerance. At the same time, you would be surprised with what using less each time and consuming it fewer times then normal will do after a while. Pretty soon that small amount will get you feeling just as high if not higher than the whole joint did back when you were smoking all day long.
For those of us that like to use the concentrates regularly just switching back to flowers will also work wonders. Hitting the rig after a week wax break will have you floating away again after you cough out a lung or two. Switch up your methods of consumption from using your heady piece to rolling up some joints etc. Repetition is what can make a valuable experience mediocre and something new always seems to have an added effect. Even changing up the location or the activity you usually end up doing can make a big difference. There are so many things you can do without quitting completely to strengthen the effects of cannabis. The rule of thumb is to change up your routine and dosage and taking occasional breaks to reset the mind.
Everyone has heard that a joint helps the day after you have a hangover and the worst headache. This actually can be applied to those of us who suffer from the physical pain involved in migraines headaches. I thought it would be helpful if I shared my own personal experience and how I’ve found what type of cannabis treatment works best to treat the horrible side effects from migraines. To this day, I’m still experimenting with the different available plant forms and strains to see what works best for not only the pain but the horrible nausea that can accompany them. The funny thing is that even if I took any of the many popular strains that are being grown today, it would still work far better than the pharmaceutical drugs I got prescribed or could have got prescribed had I continued traditional treatment. If you are in a similar situation and all you have tried are painkillers or other drugs with negative side effects, try whatever form of marijuana consumption you would be most comfortable with obtaining. There are many places even in the United States still today that don’t make it easy to find specific strains to fit your medical needs by continuing prohibition. Unfortunately all you can really do is take whatever Bob the black market dealer has, or gain the skills and equipment to produce your own medicine. It may not only reduce the discomfort you experience during an episode, but more importantly prevent the frequency that they occur in my experience. There are also new studies supporting this idea popping up the past few years.
For those of us lucky enough to live in a place where locking people in cages for having a plant has lost its popularity, we have a wide selection of not only strains but edibles, oils, drinks, lotion, and anything you could imagine. The general rule that I live by when it comes to treating my migraines is that indica dominant hybrids work best. They provide the most pain relief while relaxing the whole body making the pounding sensation much less intense and manageable. There are most definitely specific strains in this category that work better than others, but when in doubt or lacking specific info, go with this category of strains. By sedating the body and providing a lot of pain relief it makes the dizziness subside and patients able to relax. As far as consuming these strains I find smoking and vaporizing far more ideal then edibles or other methods because they take a while to produce effects. Migraine suffers much prefer immediate relief because in 40-50 minutes the worst of it likely has passed in most cases. It’s often hard to anticipate one coming until you’re already experiencing the symptoms.
Before I was being more general by saying to look for a indica dominant strain, but I would like to get more specific and point you in the direction of some strains I’ve found help me greatly. One of these are sativa dominant and that’s why the indica/sativa differentiation is only applicable in general and is not a cut and dry rule whether your talking about treating migraines or any condition. First to start off, if you can get your hands on it, is the classic and arguable most popular marijuana strain OG Kush. I think that this may be the best strain ever, not only for how much it has helped me with pain relief and nausea but it amazes me with the best effects ever. When this is professionally grown and is the authentic genetics it doesn’t get any better. Most of the good strains that took off in popularity have this in it’s genetics. It packs the punch required to treat severe pain and makes you feel extremely euphoric. Another good option that won’t put you out for the night is Tangerine Dream. I would use this if I had to work or go to college because it really finds a way to kill the pain and give motivation. There are a lot of strains that do this but the flavor on this one is amazing! Hopefully this info can lead you to the same relief I have experienced since discovering medical cannabis for myself.
This is a topic where I need feedback from the cannabis culture readers because I can’t find much information on this topic other than through other friends in the cannabis community. To this day I’m annoyed and confused as to why there isn’t an edible that has intoxicated me in the way it has to everyone else I’ve taken them with. There is no possibility that they were made incorrectly as I’ve tried edibles from all different sources. I’ve baked my own , purchased from dispensaries, and been given some quality samples from trusted friends. There was always no noticeable effect from any of these options and I usually ate much more then the recommended dose. It’s pretty much a completely different drug because it’s being processed by the liver and converted to 11-Hydroxy-THC. Most people would describe the effects as more intense and longer lasting then typical smoked marijuana. Like I said I’ve seen what it does to a group of people while I sit there wondering why I didn’t just smoke instead.
I do know one other friend that claims to have the same problem as I do but from research online and asking around it seems to be an extremely rare condition. It’s unfortunate and i don’t know if something is wrong with my liver that makes it unable to convert the THC or what but I wanted to reach out and hear your guy’s experiences. When you take edibles how many milligrams are you consuming at once? I’m sure previous consumption levels play an effect into how intense a edible experience will be. I consume cannabis daily, but have a hard time believing that explains I feel nothing from 300mg +of infused-cannabis foods. If I were to take a few hits of a joint or vaporizer, it would be a far more enjoyable experience to me so clearly it’s not a tolerance issue either. At this point I’ve pretty much finally given up on purchasing and consuming edibles.
I know I would definitely take advantage of this consumption method if it was effective for me and it’s actually more of a concern for me when I reach old age. Smoking might not always be a possibility or the most ideal when your body and lungs are more worn out and performing worse. Either way I plan on using cannabis especially more so when I get older to the increasing number of health problems. If I could find a way to gauge in any way how many people have this issue or know more information about what the problem might actually be please comment below and let me know!
I am nearly finished with my business degree and I plan on taking that knowledge when the finances are available, and apply it to running a top notch cultivation center. That’s right I want to avoid being a part of the retail segment altogether. I believe the effort you put into maintaining a recreational shop when compared to the rewards is not as beneficial as people make it out to be. Everything is heavily taxed at the retail level in Colorado right now and it’s tough to compete with all the stores operating in relatively close proximity. Another reason I’m leaning towards cultivation only is because I believe that is where my strength really lies. Although I’m still very young, I’ve been growing cannabis since I was nine-teen years old and have put countless hours into researching different growing methods. Since I first fell in love with the plant I’ve been reading and researching the best way to carry out every step in the seed to harvest process long before growing myself. The most valuable knowledge I have been received came from listening to experienced growers and by experimenting myself and seeing how to actually implement things and learn from mistakes.
On the retail side you also have to deal with countless different types of inventory and manage it effectively just like any retail store. A cultivation center’s only inventory is the large number of plants that definitely also has to be managed closely. Plants need a lot much more care and time spent on them but they are also the only focus of the cultivation center. Every grower has their own methods that works best for their resources and knowledge and I would use my own unique method to differentiate my product from the rest. I believe when you focus in on one thing you can really specialize and create a well known brand name easier. A brand name in the cannabis industry is huge. If you read about The Clear cartridges review article I wrote, you understand what I mean by this. I regularly seek out their brand name when making trips to the dispensary. If I do it right I could hopefully make a similar effect but with well grown all natural bud. Strains already differentiate one batch from another but the grower makes a far bigger difference then the strain does and that should also be made available to the consumer.
Like I said before, when the finances are there and I am in a good position to seize the opportunity this would be my dream business. Growing quality marijuana has been one of the most rewarding skills I’ve ever experienced and to make a career out of it would be a dream come true. Laws still stand in the way as there are no licences being issued for cultivation or dispensaries yet in Michigan. I would rather not move and do it here in my home state that I love the most. However if the opportunity comes, I’m not going to sit back and watch it go.
There is more than one reason why I believe this question should be addressed. However, there is one significant factor that led to the writing of this article. That would be the legalization of cannabis in the state of California. This means an additional 40 million people will be subject to different laws then the rest of us living in the same country. There is far more momentum from this passage then the 4 states before them. I really believe it’s going to be hard to ignore the countries most populous state make it clear we need reform in our laws. On top of that, at the same time Nevada, Massachusetts. and Maine all legalized it in similar manners that allowed the sale of it in many forms. That means 8 states allow at least possession of personal amounts and recreational shops to open in the states. Tax revenue will be collected from each one of these states although that will take a year or longer in the states that passed laws this past November.
All these positive changes that have taken place recently are still facing the same old powerful opponents that stand to lose tons of money if marijuana is allowed to be used and sold. I think it’s very clear that we will win as more and more people become aware of why exactly marijuana was even made illegal and how wrong it is to continue this war. It’s more of a matter of when this will happen. The DEA are dragging there feet harder then ever and have refused to even reschedule the drug to a lower category in their nonsense hierarchy of drugs. They do not want to lose their easiest target and the largest source of their funding and arrests. There really isn’t as much of a drug problem once you remove marijuana because that’s the key component to all their operations and their way of justifying thousands of jobs. Taking this all into consideration I say the chances it becomes legal for all 50 states this year is not very good. I hate to not be optimistic but we are still erasing the stigma to this day that 80 years of prohibition has caused and it may take a little more then this year and a big state decision to change federal law. Once they start seeing all the tax revenue coming from California in the years to come they may change their thinking.
If you guys have already heard of The Clear brand I would not be too surprised. I also had heard of this brand for a while before finally purchasing a pen and some of the flavored cartridges and WOW. In the past I have used different kinds of personal vaporizers designed to be stealthy that you put wax or bud in but this thing is on a whole different level. You don’t have to carry any bud or wax on you; all you need is the cartridge that is preloaded and only smells and tastes like the flavor you purchased. Once the cartridge is empty, you throw it away with the mouthpiece and simply attach your new one on.
To go into some further detail on the cartridges, they are not very large in actual size but last much longer then you would expect. If you use it several times throughout the day it will still last 3-5 days easily. That is not bad at all, and if you’re like me the main reason of using this is to have something on the go and be able to use it pretty much anywhere scent free! The flavors are very accurately labeled and are quite enjoyable and easy to keep puffing on if your not careful. Tell people it’s an e-cig it looks just like the one’s with tobacco e liquids. The pen once fully charged via USB lasts all day long and makes it easy to recharge if it doesn’t last for periods of heavier usage. The ooze pen that I bought at the dispensary with the cartridges allows you to take bigger pulls then expected from its size. As far as potency goes, if you’re a heavy medical user with a large tolerance it takes about 3-4 to really feel relaxed which is impressive. I’ve passed it to a few friends who said 1-2 was plenty to feel the effects.
I definitely recommend trying them out if you’re the type of person that is always on the go and would enjoy a easy and discreet way to use your medicine. Using couldn’t be any easier as there’s no cleaning or maintenance to be done and all you do is pull to get a hit no wait or button pushing. The only negative I would mention if anything is that the cartridges are expensive and vary in price by area of dispensary. Here it’s not too bad and still worth it but can definitely become a real expense if you start to enjoy it too much. Price goes 3 for $100 where I live right now and if the price is right get some for yourself, you won’t regret it!
Starting out young as a kid I had always spent lots of time outdoors playing sports and visiting our cabin up north without many electronics. Thinking back, I didn’t always enjoy it and complained a lot about the lack of entertainment. This wasn’t to say I didn’t gain any happiness from exploring and being outside it just wasn’t as beautiful and important as I see it now. I did not smoke weed that young and purposely avoided it until the age of 16.
Once I realized how it enhances pretty much all the senses and that it makes things enjoyable, I found myself running on the cross country team and walking/hiking for recreation on my free time. The outdoors seemed connected and alive and just more beautiful. Even when I wasn’t under the influence, the experience and appreciation for nature stayed in the forefront of my mind. Outside when the weather permitted, became my preferred place to smoke. It brought peace when combined with the high which made it very stress relieving. I also wouldn’t have to worry about parents or people who would react negatively to the use of it.
Cannabis is considered a mild psychedelic even though it doesn’t feel that way. This does make sense to me because psychedelics are known to bring the user to a deeper connection to nature among other things. Even though there are no hallucinations or out of body experiences with weed, there is something that makes me love being in nature. There could be an activity involved or not, it will be just as enjoyable for me. Especially when there is such little regard for the environment in this world when compared to profits, it makes me appreciate what is left that much more. Weed really helped me slow down and take in the world instead of just focusing on whatever priorities or problems I’m facing.
